Postgraduate Course – New Selecion Procedure starting 2023
For over 60 years, the Centre for Rural Development in English at Humboldt University of Berlin is training 20 young professionals in its postgraduate study programme “International Cooperation for Sustainable Development” each year. The 20 participants form an interdiaciplinary course that works on wide range of topics, issues and challenges in the field of international cooperation in a practice and solutions-oriented way. This year the programme is embarking on a transformative journey. These developments are set to reshape the program’s global presence and impact profoundly.
One of the most notable changes on the horizon is the internationalization of the programme. Traditionally conducted in German, the SLE’s postgraduate programme is now embracing English as its primary language of instruction. This strategic shift is a significant step toward greater inclusivity and global engagement. By transitioning to English as the primary course language, the SLE programme is making itself more accessible to a diverse and international cohort of participants. This exciting move is designed to open doors for individuals from across the globe who share a passion for sustainable development and cooperation.
In a recent yearly milestone, the SLE conducted its pre-selection process for the upcoming 62nd cohort in Berlin. This rigorous screening identified 40-50 exceptionally promising applicants who have been invited to participate in the main selection event scheduled for October. This step ensures that the program continues to attract great talent, while contributing to the broader goal of internationalization by fostering a more diverse and dynamic community of Young Professionals.
